Julius Lee, local New Orleanian, disabled veteran and founder of the S.M.C.L. Foundation and Association Inc., is making huge strides in developing opportunities for disabled citizens here in the city. The nearest center for disadvantaged or underprivileged citizens, veterans and individuals with disabilities is more than 300 miles away in the cities of Shreveport LA., Houston TX., Dallas TX., Birmingham AL., Atlanta GA. and other cities across this country.

S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates Inc.,  a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization was established in 2007 to develop such a site here in New Orleans.

The foundation has an excellent track record of providing affordable housing for low or moderate income families, promoting economic development and organizing a wheelchair sports program. In fact, the Rollin’ RINOS (Rehabilitation Institute of New Orleans Sports) train twice monthly and participate in competitive sports at least 12 weeks out of the year.  You do not need much of an imagination to understand how these programs can help drastically improve the quality of life for those who cannot participate in traditional physical activities.

Julius Lee and his non-profit organization need your help in developing a Multi-Services, Living and Sports & Recreational Complex for youth, adults and veterans with disabilities.  This complex will host sports and recreational activities for Paralympic and Special Olympic Athletes, along with therapeutic recreation for any individual with a disability.
