What if you could donate to charity every time you walked, ran or biked a mile?
What if you could get someone else to donate to charity for your fitness efforts?
Well, now you can!
I present to you one of the coolest apps in the health and fitness circuit to date — Charity Miles.
How it works: According to the Charity Miles Website all you have to do is open up the app before you begin your walk, run or biking workout routine and the GPS feature of the app tracks your progress. For every one mile that you run, 25 cents will be donated to charity and for every one mile that you bike, 10 cents will be donated.
You can also choose from multiple different charities that you can send your sponsored donations to including Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America, Pencils of Promise, The Wounded Warrior Project and others.
The only caveat: The only issue that some may have with this awesome app is that you must share your workout on Facebook or Twitter for your charity to receive donations.
Pretty cool huh?
Not only is the development of this concept great for charities, but it also helps to motivate others to exercise, while businesses get a chance to advertise in return.
A win-win situation for all.
