If you don’t know what a Burpee is, you are missing out on one of the most compact exercises ever!
The Burpee one of the most effective workouts you can do… Period. If you don’t believe me, just try to do ten of them without taking a break. When you are done, let me know whether or not you agree that this may be the best exercise you can do for your total body. The caveat — it is tough.
Because this is the case, I figured, why not make a challenge out of this particular exercise. Why not train for it as you would a 5K race? I’m too old to train for a football game and I am not a semi-pro baseball player. In fact, I can’t even train for a road race because of a foot problem (that will hopefully resolve). So why not train for a 100 rep Burpee Challenge?
The first thing I did after coming up with this idea was to Google “100 rep 10 minute burpee challenge.” No surprisingly, I am not the first fitness fanatic to come up with this great idea, which in a sense, makes me want to do it more because I can see others do it on YouTube. Ahhhh, YouTube… The taunt of all taunts. If these people can do it, so can I and so can YOU! It will take training, practice patience and consistency. Even better, imagine how much weight you will lose and muscle mass you will gain if you step up to this challenge.
Finally, no special workouts are required. You can just do burpees multiple times per week, or work in 500 Rep Workouts to supplement your burpee training. If you only have ten minutes one day to workout, just set your timer and burpee! I think only a magic pill can beat this convenience.
To keep this as simple as possible — you must at least perform three workouts per week. I do not care what workout you do for two of your workout that you choose from the workout menu, but one of your weekly workouts must be the burpee challenge. For example, every Wednesday, I will perform 100 burpees and time myself. I will continue to post my time below and on Facebook for personal tracking and accountability purposes.
I challenge YOU to step up to the plate and join the Exercise Menu community in this challenge. If 100 reps in 10 minutes is a bit much, then set your own personal goal:
“I will do _______ burpees in ______ minutes.”
You couldn’t ask for a simpler workout plan and challenge. There is no doubt that you will benefit from it.

Once I reach my ten minute goal — you can bet it will be posted on YouTube…
